Which "Sort Feed"?
Three Chrome Web Store listings use the Sort Feed name. This page is mostly about the largest, Sort Feed (version 16.8, about 90,000 users and a 3.4 rating from 298 reviews on 6 October 2026). A shorter section near the end covers sortfeed.io (version 2.5.0, about 6,000 users, 4.8 from 46 reviews), a separate extension with a similar name.
We make SortViral, so read this as one side's comparison. We've kept to what we saw in our test and what each extension lists.

What Sort Feed does well
Sort Feed is one of the largest extensions in this category, and it has real strengths:
- It covers a lot of places. Besides profiles, it works on Search, Saved, Collections and shared links.
- It lets you choose how much to load. Its menu offers the latest 25, 50, 100, 200 or 1,000 posts, or a date range (beyond 25 posts or 1 week needs Pro). It can also sort by Oldest.
- It's careful with the outlier score. It only offers the score when enough posts are loaded to make the median fair, and doesn't compute one from a sort you stopped halfway. That avoids misleading numbers.
- It shows progress. There's a live count and a stop button.
- It downloads. It has Download and Transcribe buttons on posts, with transcription on Pro. SortViral doesn't download anything.
Where it struggled in our test
On 6 October 2026 we opened MrBeast's Instagram Reels tab with Sort Feed's free tier and sorted by views.
- The page reloaded, then the whole page was blurred behind a banner that read "24 Reels sorted — don't scroll".
- The page jumped down in steps, four times over 27 seconds. That's how Sort Feed loads more posts: it scrolls the window to the bottom and waits for Instagram to fetch the next batch.
- After 60 seconds it still read "24 Reels sorted — 96%" and hadn't finished the free 25.
That's one profile on one day, so your results may differ. But the cause is the design: an extension that loads posts by scrolling the page has to stop you scrolling while it works.
How SortViral loads a profile instead
SortViral asks for the next pages of the profile in the background, as the page does when you scroll, but without moving the page.
In the same test session, this method loaded 112 of MrBeast's Reels in about 10 seconds with the page sitting still.
What you see:
- A bar above the grid with Newest, Views, Outlier and Rising, plus engagement.
- The grid re-sorts in place as the rest of the profile arrives. There's no reload and no blur.
- Every outlier score shows its baseline: the median of the creator's 30 most recent posts, leaving out pinned posts and posts under 3 days old. A score reads like "12× · median of 12 Reels", so you know how much data is behind it.
It also has a Watchlist: save creators and scan them all for the biggest outliers in a date range.
SortViral only reads what you can already see while signed in, waits about a second between requests, stops when a site shows a limit, and never likes, follows, posts or downloads.
Try SortViral on the profile you'd sort with Sort Feed. Free, no post limit.
Add to Chrome, freesortfeed.io, briefly
sortfeed.io's extension (2.5.0) puts a toolbar right above the profile grid. It shows a rank number on each tile ("#1"), the post date, and has handy date presets: today, 7, 30 and 90 days, and all time.
In our test on 6 October 2026:
- Instagram, MrBeast's Reels, by views: the grid reordered in place with no reload, but only the 12 Reels already on the page were sorted, and later Reels were added unsorted at the end.
- TikTok, MrBeast, by views: the grid took about 20 seconds to appear, then sorted 79 videos, but the page jumped on its own while it loaded more.
- Analytics: the profile report sits behind a sign-in.
Which should you use?
- Use Sort Feed if you want Collections sorting, downloads, or a direct ChatGPT connection, and you're fine with the 25-post free limit or paying for Pro.
- Use SortViral if you want the whole profile sorted free, with outlier and rising scores you can check, transcripts in the player, and a page that stays still while it loads. See how it works on Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free alternative to Sort Feed?
Yes. SortViral is free with no post limit, no sign-up and no card. It sorts Instagram, TikTok and YouTube by views, outlier score and views per day.
Why does Sort Feed say "don't scroll"?
In our test it loaded more posts by scrolling the page itself. SortViral loads posts in the background, so the page doesn't move.
Can SortViral download videos?
No. It never downloads, likes, follows or posts. Sort Feed can download.
Does either work on a phone?
No. Both are Chrome extensions, which run on a computer only.
