What SortViral reads
The Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Pinterest pages you open, only while you use the SortViral bar, and only what you can already see when signed in.
What it keeps on your computer
- Sorted results, deleted after 24 hours
- Your Watchlist and Bookmarks, until you remove them
- Your last sort
- Format labels, made on your computer by Chrome's built-in AI
- If you turn on Use with AI: the pairing with your AI app
Removing SortViral deletes all of it.
What leaves your computer
- Feedback you send from Help & feedback: your message, your email if you add one, and the technical details if you leave that box ticked (extension and Chrome version, page type, last error code; never links, handles or posts).
- Your answer on the uninstall page, if you give one.
- What you ask your AI app for, if you connect one: SortViral sends the results only to the app you paired, on your computer (ws://127.0.0.1). What that app does with them is up to the app.
- Anonymous usage events, so we know which features people use and when a platform breaks SortViral: for example "a sort finished on Instagram, 388 posts, 9 seconds" or "Formats opened". They carry a random ID made when you install SortViral. Never page links, handles, captions, transcripts or anything about the people you research, and never your email or location. We use PostHog to count them.
